You are going to examine the Revolutionary War from both the American point of view (patriots) and the British perspective (loyalist). Below are many different types of famous people who participated in the Revolutionary War. You are to choose and fully research one person who you find interesting for the purpose of our class ROLE PLAYING activity.

What is role playing?

According to wiki, role-playing is an activity in which participants assume the roles of characters and collaboratively create or follow stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their research of the characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, players can improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the activity.

What will I do with my character in the role play?

Your character will be performed live class as part of a play activity… After the play you will write research papers which outline the information you gathered online portraying the role of the person you have chose to write and act-out. Your acting will be displayed best from the research you gather from the Internet about your chosen character. In other words, you will have to get to know a bit about your chosen character for your interpretation to be fun and accurate. We will review this in further detail in class…
